Persons with disabilities encounter a number of obstacles and discrimination, including attitudinal, environmental and institutional barriers halting their complete and equal participation in all aspects of life. This is even more so In the ongoing COVID19 global pandemic era. The aim of this virtual workshop will be to raise awareness between aging and disability, explore steps that could improve their situation, and identify strategies for a group that is often forgotten.

Dr. Kimberley Garth-James, Director -Founder / Manager of Consultation Evaluation Education (CEE), Inc. Dr. Garth-James has over 17 years in politics and administration. She has worked with local, national, and international organizations, public and private partners, and government entities on criminal justice, healthcare, and education issues. Her experiences in consultancy on public policy programs for the US Embassy, London, Department of Defense, Dependent Schools, Eastcote, London, and US Department of Justice, Compliance Monitoring of Private Prison Industries Programs, and sentencing advisor for the California Governor’s Office of Criminal Justice Planning, California Legislature, U.S. Sentencing Commission; as well as the California Department of Education.

Dr. Garth-James’ accolades include certificates as Data Specialist from the California Department of Education, Outstanding Women’s Award from the YWCA, and highest a California Legislative Resolution. She has both master’s and doctorate degrees in Public Management and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.
